I'm Eric Gersh, your AME Broadcast teacher and the AME Coordinating Teacher. Back in 2009 our principal, CJ Foss, recruited me to come to Calabasas High and establish the Academy of Media & Entertainment. Together we completed the California Partnership Academies grant application and set about recruiting for the AME team from amongst the talented and dedicated staff at CHS. Now, eight years on, quite a bit has changed but our mission remains the same: provide a world class college preparatory education built on a foundation of practical, real world, interdisciplinary project based learning. My background has helped me lead and grow this program with the help of a dedicated team of teachers, administrators and counselors.

Prior to teaching, I spent 25 years in the media industry. I've worked in trade fairs and conferences, entertainment oriented internet start-ups and film and TV production and post production. Immediately before coming to CHS, I ran my own production and post-production company centered on DVD Authoring and creating "Making of" documentaries for DVDs.

My broad experience in all aspects of media production gives me the skills required to provide our students with the most realistic introduction to film/broadcast production possible.
