Margie Selke

Film IP

Hi, I'm Margie Selke and I teach 9th grade AME Film IP, Film IP for all grade levels and Film IIP. I started dancing, acting and writing in school and community groups from age five throughout my adolescence, then studied at UCLA and UCSB in the School of Theatre, Film and Television. I have worked as an actress, writer, production assistant, and in film marketing. I obtained my teaching credential in drama at CSUN in 1994 and then taught at IHHS for 5 years before coming to CHS in 2000. I started the film curriculum for CHS in 2001 and we now have 2 levels of college prep film courses. In the Spring of 2005 I began our CHS Film Club and annual Student Film Festival. Some of the schools my film students have studied at are UCLA, USC, Chapman, L.A. Film School, and NYU. Many of my past film students have found employment in the media and entertainment industry in writing, AD work, editing, cinematography, computer graphics, directing and acting in both independent and mainstream television and film productions. I am very proud of all my past and present amazing film students!
